Thibaut Courtois predicts Alvaro Morata’s impact next season

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has given his prediction on the impact new teammate Alvaro Morata will have at the club next season.

Morata was bought by Chelsea last week from Real Madrid for £58 million and is likely to replace the departing Diego Costa despite Michy Batshuayi performing admirably in preseason.

The former Juventus forward failed to score on  his debut against Bayern Munich in Singapore but was involved in Chelsea’s second goal of the game after flicking on Cesc Fabregas’ cross into the path of Batshuayi who converted.

The 24-year old former will be ‘dangerous’ and score goals for Chelsea according to Courtois, who seemed impressed by what Morata did on Tuesday.

I think he (Morata) just spent a few days with the team.

He has to learn our way of playing but I think he came in very well. He was dangerous. We saw some of his ability.

So he is a very good striker and he will score a lot of goals for us.

Thibaut Courtois, Goal

Morata has a good goal per game ratio after scoring 15 goals in 14 games last season in the Spanish top flight for Real.
