Michy Batshuayi tells Chelsea fans where he’s playing next season

Preseason started for Chelsea Monday without last season’s first choice striker Diego Costa, but the Michy Batshuayi declares himself a willing warrior upfront for Chelsea next season.

Batshuayi has been in the peripheries at Stamford Bridge since his arrival last season with Costa the preferred option upfront. However, after Chelsea’s struggles to replace the departing Spanish striker, Batshuayi may just well be the guy for Antonio Conte to rely on.

The Blues have had unsuccessful attempts to sign Romelu Lukaku who recently joined Manchester United and are reportedly angling for moves for Torino’s Andrea Belotti and Real Madrid young forward Alvaro Morata.

In the midst of all this hustle and stress for a new striker, Batshuayi looks ready for the battle ahead next season and reminds Blues fans he’s still around with a twitter video captioned, “When ppl asking me where I’m going but Chelsea’s LITERALLY in my blood right now”.

According to Opta, Batshuayi had a conversion rate of 45.5% last season with his five goals in 20 games in all competitions. That makes him a handy player to rely on if the going gets tough for Conte’s side next season.

His goals came after every 47 minutes on the pitch, a convicing stat for Conte’s backroom staff.

Chelsea may just have to ditch the high spending and have a good look at the striker at their disposal. The Belgian international may need the consistent minutes to prove himself but is Conte a man for the gamble?
