Kurt Zouma has completed the loan switch to Stoke that has been rumoured for some time.
Mark Hughes spoke about the club’s interest in the defender openly a few weeks ago, and now pictures have emerged from Stoke’s training ground showing the Frenchman in the club’s training kit.
Zouma was outstanding under Jose Mourinho and had made himself first choice until an unfortunate knee injury saw him miss the best part of a season.
Antonio Conte showed some interest in the centre back’s skills, using him mainly as a physical presence to close out games, but even in the cup matches he started Zouma looked rusty and in need of a spell playing regularly. Hopefully he will be able to force his way into Mark Hughes’ team and recapture the form that saw him make himself a fan favourite at Chelsea in the first place.
Zouma is also supposedly on the verge of a new contract, which may have been signed before he departed for his new club.
