Diego Costa throws jab at Conte sending clear message he’s no longer at Chelsea

Controversial striker Diego Costa will dominate the headlines again for the wrong reasons after his fresh stunt in an Atletico Madrid jersey.

Costa was seen in his Instagram live video, wearing an Atletico jersey and telling Cesc Fabregas to “give Conte a hug’.

He has been given time off by Chelsea to sort out his future and has not trained with his teammates this off season. Conte told him via text soon after last season ended that he was no longer in his plans for next season, an action that has led to Chelsea desperately searching for a replacement this transfer window.

The 28-year old has eyed a return to Spain but faces a lengthy time out if he moves to Ateltico, with Diego Simeone’s side not allowed to sign players until January. He would have to wait six months to kick football officially for the club.

Chelsea have been linked to Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, Alvaro Morata, Andrea Belotti and more recently, Sergio Aguero.

The Blues missed out on Romelu Lukaku to local rivals Manchester United but with Costa firmly out of Chelsea plans next season – and the player very comfortable with the situation – Chelsea will have to act fast in the window for the world class striker they want.
