According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea midfielder Nat Chalobah will leave the club this summer having joined as a 10 year old. It’s a sad day for Nat, who feels like he won’t get enough playing time if he stays at Stamford Bridge another year.
The story of how we came to this point, and the two errors that I think were behind the club and player both finding themselves in this awkward situation, are outlined below.
Sounds like the Chalobah exit is inevtiable now, according to @sjstandardsport. Everything was so rosy for Nat after 2012-2013 in Watford.

He was 18 and starting every game for a team fighting for promotion in a tough league. I remember @JackPittBrooke raving about him.

The year at Forest/Boro wasn't perfect but he still played regularly for both and continued to develop. Burnley was the first big mistake.

He needed to step up to the Prem but it was a poor choice of destination. Burnley's first season in PL, Dyche even more pragmatic than usual

He didn't get any chances, Dyche didn't want to change his winning team. Had to drop back down to Championship with Reading. Then Napoli…

We all liked the idea that he would be appreciated more in Italy but it was mad to think he would get enough games to make it worthwhile.

Will be excellent at Watford again I've no doubt and will hopefully get the chance to return to Chelsea sooner rather than later.
