Chelsea on the verge of £27.6m Brazilian surprise signing

Chelsea are apparently on the verge of securing another important signing as the slow start to the transfer window from the Champions gradually begins to heat up.

The player in question is Danilo, the Brazilian right back of Real Madrid who is looking for a fresh start having been kept out of the side by the exceptional form of Dani Carvajal in the two seasons since his arrival from Porto.

Chelsea will apparently pay €31m (£27.6m) for the defender, who will be provide competition for Victor Moses in the right-wing back position as he looks to play more regularly and earn a spot in the Brazil side for the upcoming World Cup in Russia.

The report comes from UOL, a Brazilian media company who claim that the deal is not complete but is some way along, with the Blues having knocked down the price of the former Porto man from an initial asking price of €40.
