Chelsea told to pay £30m for backup striker

Chelsea are ready to sign another striker this summer and Fernando Llorente has emerged hot favorite to arrive.

Chelsea, however, will have to dish out £30m, per the Independent, to have their target as Swansea will not let him go on the cheap.

Llorente was Swansea’s top scorer last season as his 15 goals helped Paul Clement’s side survive relegation.

Chelsea also have Crystal Palace target man Christian Benteke as a target but the striker’s demand for first team starts will scupper the deal after Chelsea signed Alvaro Morata.

Conte is looking for his Juventus reunion where he worked with both Morata and Llorente. The Swansea forward was then a mentor for Morata who was behind Carloz Tevez in the pecking order.

The Independent says at Chelsea, Llorente will be a regular backup option for Morata and a man Conte believes he could rely on in both the Champions League and Premier League.
