Chelsea reach agreement for Real Madrid defender

Chelsea have reached an agreement for Real Madrid defender Danilo, according to Spanish TV.

Trashy Spanish football chat-show El Chiringuito claim that the Blues have agreed a price with Madrid for the defender, with the details set to be revealed later this afternoon on their TV channel.

Danilo has been linked with the Blues for several weeks now, with Antonio Conte looking for a defender to back up Victor Moses on the right hand side of defence. Danilo was a highly rated prospect when at Porto, but in the Spanish capital he’s been stuck behind the exceptional Dani Carvajal and is now looking to leave for more playing time.

The pursuit of Alex Sandro seems to have ground to a halt, while the arrival of Tiemoue Bakayoko and Antonio Rudiger in recent weeks has placated a panicky fan base somewhat that moves are being made. There is still no official confirmation of this move beyond these rumours, but it’s a promising sign that full-back remains a priority.
