In perhaps the most unbelievable transfer rumour of the summer, Chelsea have been linked with a move for Premier League golden boy Dele Alli by CalcioMercato.
There are no shortage of reasons why this is a ridiculous idea. Let’s list a few.
- Spurs would rather sell him to literally any other team rather than Chelsea. We are not only their top title competition, we are also their hated rivals.
- Alli is developing exceptionally well at Spurs and is unlikely to throw that away at the moment.
- He has a fantastic relationship with Mauricio Pochettino and there is still very much a sense of an upward curve at White Hart Lane (as much as we hate to admit it).
- He would cost an unspeakable amount of money to get, as the most talented player of the most expensive nationality.
Things might be very different in a year or two, but at this point in time this rumour is totally and utterly unbelievable.
