Alvaro Morata to arrive in London today for Chelsea medicals

The Daily Star reports Chelsea target Alvaro Morata is on his way to London Thursday, in a British Airways flight – BA0282, to finalize the transfer from Real Madrid.

The striker has been chased by Chelsea for most of the summer, temporarily switching attentions to former striker Romelu Lukaku.

The Everton forward was bought by Manchester United who hijacked Chelsea’s deal, leaving Chelsea with other targets this summer.

Morata’s deal was confirmed by Chelsea on Wednesday as the club firm up their transfer business this summer.

According to Daily Star, Morata will arrive in London this morning to complete his medicals before joining Antonio Conte’s squad in China for their pre-season tour.

I’m going to the team managed by the coach who has placed the most faith in me, and that’s great for me.

It has been a slightly strange summer for me. A lot of things have happened. In the end, if God wishes, tomorrow [Thursday] I will be at a club that have wanted me for years, with a gaffer whom I have spoken to constantly. So I’m really happy.

I have been training hard for whatever outcome, but I was clear that this was my objective. It’s sad to leave Real Madrid, but I hope that everything will go well for me at Chelsea.

Morata will earn £150,000-a-week per the Star and will replace Diego Costa who is set to depart for Atletico Madrid this summer.
