There are only a few top strikers left on the market this summer, and each of their futures affects those of the others.
The news in today’s Calcio Mercato is that AC Milan made a bid for Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero as they look to continue their incredibly impressive overhaul this summer.
At first this appears to be a bad thing for Chelsea, who are in desperate need of a striker and have been linked with a bid for the forward by Sky Sports over the last week.

However, AC Milan moving for Aguero can benefit Chelsea as the Italian club are also interested in Alvaro Morata, another of Chelsea’s targets.
Manchester City will probably never sell the Blues their Argentine striker, so it’s preferable that Milan snap him up, leaving Antonio Conte a clear path to persuade Morata to come to Stamford Bridge. He will have one fewer option on the list, and AC Milan will have their need for a striker filled.
