Swansea enter race to sign prolific striker from Chelsea

Swansea have entered the race to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, according to reports on the BBC website.

The talented forward is currently playing at the European U21 Championships, but has his future up in the air with several clubs interested in bringing him to the Premier League on loan.

Last year the 19 year old showed great quality in the Championship, netting 26 times with 23 in the league for Bristol City in a campaign that proved he was ready to step up to the top flight of English football.

Now Brighton and Newcastle seem to be leading the charge to secure Abraham on loan, with Swansea joining Vitesse Arnhem among the later entrants to the race.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins confirmed his club’s interest in Abraham, but he admitted that the aforementioned arrivals from the Championship would also be keen to bring in the prolific forward. One advantage that his side would have is the presence of Paul Clement, who worked with Abraham at Chelsea, as their manager.
