Bayern issue ‘hands off’ warning to Chelsea and Man United

Bayern Munich have furiously reacted to news that striker Robert Lewandowski’s right hand men have met Chelsea and Manchester United representatives, further threatening to report them to FIFA.

It is clearly illegal for clubs to have discussions with players under contract with other clubs but the practice has often become the norm with many players aggreing deals with clubs before a transfer fee is agreed on.

In Bayern Munich’s case, they will not waste any time on quashing what they possibly is a false report and have issued a strong statement after Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague revealed Lewandowski maybe on his way to England.

Robert Lewandowski is under contract at Bayern and only recently renewed his deal until 2021.

In the statement, Bayern said, “There are no talks with other clubs, and there won’t be any. If other clubs negotiate with players who are under long-term contracts, they risk FIFA punishment. The agent also confirmed to us that he has not held any contract talks.

“Although the 28-year old forward recently signed a new contract tying him to Bayern till 2021, his agent Maik Barthel recently revealed his client was unhappy at the Bavarian club after nearly missing out on the Bundesliga Golden boot last season, claiming his teammates not did provide enough help to secure the award.”

Real Madrid have also been linked with the Polish striker but with Bayern’s statement, any of such dreams has been killed.

The Bundesliga champions have made it a habit of swiftly reacting to transfer stories lately after unleashing a similar statement to deny been interested in Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
