Willian pours cold water on Man Utd rumours with love of London

Willian has gone some distance to quietening the whispers about a potential move to link up with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United by speaking about his love of London and confirming he is applying for a British passport.

The Brazilian has been superb for the Blues this season, as he was last term, but under Antonio Conte he has had to accept his role as option 1b just behind Pedro. The 28 year old still received plenty of playing time, but not as many starts as last year when he was a shining light in the Chelsea team.

In an interview with SporTV in Brazil, the winger confirmed that he would be applying for British citizenship, potentially ruling out a move abroad. He also spent some time discussing his love for London, which Blues fans will be hoping is a sign that the rumoured move to Manchester United isn’t as likely as some have suggested.
