Thibaut Courtois says he’ll sign new Chelsea contract with one condition

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed he’ll sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge, but only if he’s being rewarded with a proper pay-rise following his stellar season for the Blues.

The Belgium international won the Golden Glove award this season as he kept more clean-sheets than any other keeper in the Premier League this term, helping Chelsea to Premier League glory and all the way to the FA Cup final.

He has been constantly linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, and Chelsea will be doing their everything to ward off interest from the La Liga champions.

According to several sources, Chelsea could be offering Courtois a new deal worth £150,000-a-week, making him one of the highest paid players at the club.

After Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Arsenal in Saturday’s FA Cup final, Courtois claimed he’s happy to stay at the club and is will be delighted to sign a new deal should Chelsea offer him one.

“Contract talks haven’t opened but I am happy at Chelsea.

I hope they reward me with a good contract then there will be no doubt I will sign it.”

Chelsea will also be trying to tie up star player Eden Hazard with a new contract, as well as Antonio Conte.
