AFC Bournemouth and Chelsea have come to an agreement over the transfer of Asmir Begovic, who will be joining the Cherries in a deal that’s expected to be worth £15m.
Chelsea’s official website have confirmed that the player completed his medical and finished the paperwork at the Premier League side earlier today, and will be joining Eddie Howe’s team on the first day of July.
Chelsea signed Begovic in a £8m deal from Stoke City to replace departing Petr Cech two years ago, and the Bosnia and Herzegovina international impressed already on his first season at the Blues.
The friendly and respectful 29-year-old played a lot more than earlier expected last season, due to Thibaut Courtois’ injury concerns, but contributed less than expected this season, as the Belgium number one goalie was both fit and in terrific form throughout the campaign.
In total, Begovic made 33 appearances at Chelsea, keeping 10 clean-sheets.
