Nat Chalobah has a Premier League winners medal now after a season of mainly helping the team out off the bench. But his greatest contribution to Chelsea this year could still be yet to arrive.
The midfielder spent a year on loan at Napoli last season, and despite not playing a huge amount he learned a lot and loved the city. He went back with Nathan Ake and Ola Aina this week to take a well earned break, and while he was there met up with one of Chelsea’s major summer transfer targets, Dries Mertens.
As you can see from the Instagram, the two are clearly friends, and with the Blues looking out for a top striker this summer, perhaps Nat was sent on a mission by the board to get the Belgian speed merchant on board?
