Nat Chalobah disappoints with quiet performance against Watford

Chelsea beat Watford 4-3 with a largely rotated team in an exciting but chaotic game at Stamford Bridge.

While writing the player ratings, it was tempting to simply give good marks to the attacking players and bad marks to the defensive ones, despite them picking up two goals and two assists between them.

The hard players to grade were the midfielders. N’Golo Kante did well as always, shutting around and making a nuisance of himself, although it wasn’t one of his most dominant games.

Nat Chalobah on the other hand, with the chance to impress once again with a start in midfield, struggled to influence the game. He was 7th in the team for touches and 6th for passes. He made 3 tackles to Kante’s 10, with no interceptions.

These stats can’t tell you everything about the day a player had, but they certainly back up my feeling that the 22 year old was not as involved as he could have been, either offensively or defensively.
