Michy Batshuayi: ‘I’ll go wherever Chelsea want me to go’

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has told he’s open to move anywhere the club wants him to go this summer to earn him the development he needs to be a first-team player at the Blues one day.

Batshuayi’s future at the club is very unclear at this point, as his crucial form at the end of the season – scoring four goals in his last five Premier League games – has put Antonio Conte wondering whether to keep him in the ranks or send him out on loan. A lot will surely depend on Diego Costa and whether he’ll be staying or leaving.

The young Belgium international has only been a fringe player in Conte’s set-up despite completing a huge £32m transfer from Olympique Marseille last summer.

He was clearly a signing orchestrated by the head of the club, and his low amount of playing time has proved that.

Despite his difficulty at finding a breakthrough, Batshuayi sealed Chelsea the title away at West Brom and has stayed very professional throughout the campaign, not complaining about his situation at all.

Before Chelsea’s FA Cup final against Arsenal, the 23-year-old spoke to a Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad about his future.

“Honestly, I’m not trying to think too much [about my future].

We still have a match and I’m trying 200 per cent. After that it will up to the board and the coach to make a decision.

I’m a player and I’ll go wherever Chelsea sends me.”
