Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly planning an audacious bid for Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic this summer, the Manchester Evening News reports.
United’s hopes of landing Tottenham defensive midfielder Eric Dier have sustained a heavy blow as Mourinho himself admitted that completing such deal would be very difficult.
Therefore he’s targeting a reunion with Matic, who would fit perfectly into the Red Devils’ midfield replacing Michael Carrick in the pivot alongside Paul Pogba.
It’s reported that United would need to pay at least £40m to enter negotiations with the Serbian international, who was a key player under Mourinho in Chelsea’s title-winning side in 2014/15.
The Portuguese is also very keen to sign Blues forward Willian, but the Brazilian international has confirmed he’s happy to stay at Stamford Bridge until the end of his contract.
Willian: "If I stay at #Chelsea, I will remain very happy here. If I have to leave, it will be for a place where I’m also respected.“ [ESPN]

The former Porto boss has also been rumoured to be keen on bringing in Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma this summer.
