Ex-Chelsea striker sings impressive Batshuayi’s praises

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has urged manager Antonio Conte to give Michy Batshuayi another shot next season after the Belgian’s prolific end to the season.

Batshuayi had become something of a running joke at Stamford Bridge, coming on in plenty of games as a late sub but rarely ever starting. The game against Watford last Monday was his first start in the Premier League, and the forward netted again having won the title the preceding Friday with the winner against West Brom.

A goal against Sunderland in the final game of the season made it 3 in 3 for Michy, and now Chris Sutton is calling upon Antonio Conte to try the striker again next season, at the very least as backup to whichever striker is brought in to replace Diego Costa, who seems set for a move to China.

Speaking to Goal, Sutton said he had been impressed by Batshuayi’s impact, although he had doubts about Conte’s level of trust in the forward.
