Chelsea planning to sell striker outcast to Lyon for £17.5m

Chelsea’s on-loan striker Bertrand Traore is looking very likely to leave the club either on another loan spell or with a permanent transfer, and should the outcome be the latter, The Blues want at least £17.5m from the sale.

According to RMC (via talkSPORT), Ligue 1 side Olympique Lyonnais are planning to launch an offer for the Burkina Faso international this summer following the current Ajax forward’s spectacular performances against the Frenchmen in the semi-finals of the Europa League.

But the reports suggest that despite Lyon being very keen on landing Traore, the asking price of £17.5m might only ward off the side.

The 21-year-old Traore has bagged nine goals in 24 Eredivisie appearances this season, but is no closer to make it in the Chelsea first-term next term, which is only going to be strengthened during the summer transfer window ahead of the Blues’ return to the Champions League next season.
