Chelsea reignite interest in former Juventus striker

Chelsea have reportedly revived their interest on Swansea City forward Fernando Llorente, the Independent reports.

The Blues already made an approach for the Spanish striker in the January transfer window, but the former Athletic Bilbao hit-man was keen to stay and help the Welsh side avoid relegation – which they eventually were able to do.

Fernando Llorente has played a key part for Swansea in their survival battle this season.

Now that their place in the Premier League remains, Antonio Conte wants to take advantage of Llorente’s experience in the Blues’ upcoming return to the Champions League next season.

The Italian boss worked with the 32-year-old striker during his time at Juventus and has a good relationship with the Swans top goalscorer, who has netted 14 league goals to his name this season.

Chelsea will have to start looking for big reinforcements ahead of next term especially because of Diego Costa’s unsettled situation at the club, and with just Michy Batshuayi covering him as the back-up out-and-out striker.
