Chelsea ready to double Tottenham star’s wages to lure him at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea are reportedly joining a huge £40m bidding war with Manchester City for the signature of Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker, Daily Mirror reports.

The England international is currently unsettled at the Londoner side, with his injuries and all sorts of issues losing him his place in the regular starting line-up for Ben Davies and Kieran Trippier, and moving to Chelsea or City could see the player double his current wages of £70,000-a-week.

Pep Guardiola is a big fan of Walker and sees him as the perfect replacement for Pablo Zabaleta, who’s set to move on to another club at the end of the season.

However, neither Premier League side is yet to make an approach for the Englishman, but both clubs know that the price for Walker’s services would be likely to be in the excess of £40m.

In the end, Spurs want to avoid selling the 26-year-old to a rival club, but seem to have no choice but to do that and ask for a big price.
