Chelsea to open talks with AS Monaco star next week

The Premier League season is coming to its close this Sunday as we face Sunderland at home as our last league fixture before lifting the trophy for the fifth time in our club’s history. Once we’re done and over with that, Chelsea are set to place their full focus on the upcoming summer transfer window that opens June 1st.

Chelsea are now reported to have stepped on the gas to increase their offer for AS Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko, as the West London side are ready to trigger the French side’s €50m (£42.7m) asking price for the player and move on for advanced negotiations as soon as next week.

The 22-year-old has been labelled as one of the most promising players in Europe today, and Chelsea are understood to be leading the race for his signature with other big Premier League sides such as Liverpool and Manchester United also keen to land him.

Antonio Conte is also monitoring Bakayoko’s Monaco team-mate Thomas Lemar, but Monaco are unlikely keen to sell both, with young star striker Kylian Mbappe also a big transfer target for clubs around Europe.

Telegraph also suggest that Chelsea could be ready to offload Michy Batshuyai the other way to boost their chances of landing Bakayoko this summer.
