Loan star Matt Miazga’s Chelsea future given big boost

Chelsea loan star Matt Miazga has been handed a big boost in his dream of returning to the Blues’ first-team one day, as the 21-year-old is set to be loaned out to a higher level side for next season, Goal reports.

The first ever United States international to play for Chelsea joined the West London side in the January transfer window of 2016 and made two starts under interim manager Guus Hiddink before being loaned to Vitesse Arnhem in the summer.

The promising centre-back has now attracted interest from Eredivisie’s top clubs Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven, but was also the subject of loan offers from two unnamed Premier League clubs and La Liga side Espanyol before moving to Holland last summer.

Chelsea didn’t accept the loan moves from England and Spain as the Blues couldn’t have afforded to lose him should their move for David Luiz fall through on the deadline day of last summer’s transfer window.

Miazga has made 23 appearances for Vitesse this term, becoming a key player for the side and helping them to triumph the Dutch Cup this season.
