Cesc Fabregas: ‘I could leave Chelsea this summer’

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he’s unsure whether he’ll stay at Stamford Bridge over the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Spain international hasn’t had the easiest of seasons at Chelsea this term, as he has found himself starting games from the bench lot more often than previously for both Blues and his ex-clubs – Barcelona and Arsenal.

Cesc Fabregas has been heavily rotated this season by Antonio Conte.

The 30-year-old has thus been linked with a move to several clubs in Europe, with Liverpool and Manchester United the most interested sides in the Premier League.

Earlier this month The Sun reported that Fabregas would be the subject of a £25m bidding war between the two league rivals, and the play-maker himself hasn’t ruled out moving away at the end of the season, as he was interviewed following Chelsea’s 2-1 loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup final on Saturday.

“Anything can happen but I have always said I feel very, very loved by the fans here and every time I have played I have shown I can play at the top level in this team. It is all about trying to change the manager’s decision.

It is still a good season. We go home with a bad taste because of what has happened but for sure we would rather win the Premier League than the FA Cup.

Sometimes it is all about the coach’s decision. I don’t think I could have done much more this season, it is the coach’s decision and you have to respect that.

I’m sure he wants the best for the team and if he thinks that is the way to go you have to go with it, we are a team.

I have nothing against Antonio, he has done a fantastic job.

Of course every player wants to play more, it is in the genes of a winner and I am one of them. I’m here for whatever the team needs and I have shown that during the season.”

Despite the hints of possibly quitting Chelsea, Fabregas claims he’s very happy at the Blues and feels very beloved by the fans. And regardless of his low amount of playing time this season, his performances have been quality and is surely in Antonio Conte’s plans next season.
