Bournemouth closing in on Chelsea’s Asmir Begovic

Chelsea are set to complete their first piece of business in the summer transfer window of 2017, as Premier League rivals AFC Bournemouth are closing in on the signing of Asmir Begovic, Daily Mail reports.

The Blues’ second-choice keeper made just two starts in the league last season, and was therefore left without a Premier League winners’ medal.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international is now set to complete a £15m move to Bournemouth, as he’s having his medical with the Cherries scheduled for this week.

Should Chelsea be able to get £15m for the sale, they’d be making almost the double of what they signed Begovic from Stoke City for – £8m.

The 29-year-old keeper was already close to completing a move to Bournemouth last January, but Chelsea had to turn down the £12m offer from Eddie Howe’s side as they were unable to find a replacement for the player in time.
