Bayern Munich want Chelsea star if Alexis Sanchez move fails

Chelsea have been set on alert as German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly planning to make Willian as their back-up target for Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez, according to reports in Germany.

The Bundesliga champions are in pole position to sign the Gunners forward – who is also a target for the Blues boss Antonio Conte – but should they fail to lure the Chilean international to move away from the Emirates, Carlo Ancelotti’s team will table an offer for Chelsea’s Willian.

The Brazilian international has recently dismissed links between him and Manchester United, stating that he’s happy and loved at Chelsea, but a move to a new league and probably the greatest side in it could be a whole other story.

Bayern are desperate for a new winger this summer, as club veterans Arjen Robben, 33, and Franck Ribery, 34, are slowly losing the pace to play first-team football throughout the whole campaign.

Willian started just 15 games for the Blues this term, and would be offered more regular first-team football at Bayern Munich, should the situation escalate to that stage.
