Antonio Conte’s Inter move collapses as Chelsea promise big summer spending

Inter Milan have given up on signing Antonio Conte as the Italian club have gradually come to realise that prising the manager away from London at this stage in his fledgling Chelsea career will be impossible.

The Daily Mail report that the Blues boss is no longer considered a realistic target by Inter, who will now turn their attention to Luciano Spalletti, the Roma boss who is expected to leave that role shortly.

This admission of defeat will be a boon to Chelsea fans who were desperate to keep Conte, and many will hope that the board have agreed to back the newly crowned champion in the transfer market this summer as an incentive to keep him at the club.

After a couple of quiet windows there’s certainly enough cash in the bank to support such a theory, and Antonio should now be trusted to spend it after proving his ability to coach the best out of his players.
