Four Blues outrageously snubbed by PFA in Team of the Year

The PFA team of the year was announced today, and while four Chelsea players made it into the team, several more can feel hard done by to have not made it.

While all XI of Chelsea’s regular first team – plus Cesc Fabregas – have been excellent for large swathes of the season, only Gary Cahill, David Luiz, N’Golo Kante and Eden Hazard made it into the final team.

That leaves out Cesar Azpilicueta, who most Chelsea fans will tell you has had a superb season even by his exceptionally high standards, and has been even better and more consistent than Cahill and Luiz this term.

Also omitted from the team are both Chelsea wing backs. Given that they are competing with Tottenham’s Rose and Walker it’s hardly surprising, but the Chelsea pair have been instrumental since Antonio Conte’s switch to a 343 formation.

Thibaut Courtois can also feel hard done by to have been left out between the sticks.
