Inter meet with €40m Chelsea target

Inter Milan have stolen a march on the other clubs looking to sign Federico Bernardeschi by meeting with his agent in anticipation of a summer transfer.

The Fiorentina midfielder is being chased by some of Europe’s top clubs, including Juventus and Chelsea, but it is the team from Milan who have made the first move by contacting Beppe Bozzo, the player’s agent.

At this stage the interest still seems preliminary, and Chelsea could still expect to be favourites to sign the attacker should they put their weight behind a bid.

Calciomercato report that the rising star has concerns about playing time if he moves to Juventus, and while Chelsea also have a strong squad, Antonio Conte has shown from day 1 that he is willing to give any player in the squad a chance if they show the hard work he demands.

The Italian site also cite a €40m potential transfer fee, which would be considered good value for such a talented player.
