Eden Hazard: ‘No sign of contract renewal at Chelsea’

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has confirmed that the club haven’t opened negotiations over a new contract extension just yet, but that the talks are likely to begin at the end of the season.

The 26-year-old flying winger has been a carrying force in the Blues team this season and has been linked with a new contract offer from the Blues for some time now.

Spanish giants Real Madrid are showing big interest on the player and a new deal for the Belgium international would surely ward off their interest at least for another season.

Real Madrid have been circling around Hazard ever since he started shining for the Blues outfit, and are speculated to be preparing a world-record offer around £100m for the player.

Speaking in an interview for Sky Sports ahead of Chelsea’s big Premier League clash against Southampton later today, Hazard has suggested that he is in no rush to sign a new contract with the club since he still has time left in his current deal.

“There is no sign of a new contract for the moment. I am focused on the last month, and we will talk later. It’s not in my mind now. I have two or three years left. I just want to finish the season well and we will see afterwards.”
