€40m Chelsea target ‘almost certain’ to play in Premier League next year

Chelsea target Ivan Perisic is apparently ‘almost certain’ to play in the Premier League next year after attracting interest from a number of clubs in the English top flight.

The Inter attacker has impressed at San Siro since arriving from Wolsburg and his technical ability and work rate have shone both in the league and for Croatia in recent international tournaments.

Inter have been given a huge injection of cash by their new Chinese owners, but Goal.com report that the Croat is “almost certain” to move to England in the summer, with Arsenal and Manchester United also interested in his services.

The reported transfer fee of €35-40m is unlikely to be a stumbling block for the Blues, especially if they sell Diego Costa as looks increasingly likely. Beating competition from United and Arsenal may prove more difficult, but given that neither of those sides are guaranteed European football, the Blues could end up being Perisic’s first choice if results go their way.
