Shocking £10m Tammy Abraham bid rejected by Chelsea

Surprising news has emerged which claims that Chelsea rejected a bid for their star youngster Tammy Abraham in the January window .

According to reports in the Evening Standard, the Blues “turned down an offer of £10m from a top-flight club in January.”

It’s a shocking revelation on several levels. Firstly it’s surprising that news of the bid did not leak at the time. Secondly, it’s surprising that whichever club made the offer thought they could get the forward for so little.

While the same paragraph from the Standard points out that Abraham hasn’t played at Premier League level, that’s hardly a black mark against his name given that in his one season in senior football he is on course to finish as the top scorer and perhaps the best player in the division just below.

That’s despite playing for a team battling relegation all year.

Abraham’s value was well above £10m at the time and only continues to skyrocket as the goals fly in. The Blues would be mad to let him go.
