Chelsea starlet set to join AC Milan to follow footsteps of Essien, Torres

Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic is wanted to join AC Milan on a permanent deal following an impactful loan spell with the Serie A side, Calciomercato reports.

According to the source the move is almost official, as the Milan manager Vincenzo Montella has constantly named the 22-year-old into the first-team starting line-up and looks like to be staying at San Siro.

However, Chelsea are yet to decide whether they’ll be prepared to let go of the Croatian ace, with Antonio Conte reportedly an admirer of him.

Moving to AC Milan, Pasalic would be following the footsteps of former Blues Michael Essien and Fernando Torres, who both found their place (temporarily at least) from the Italian club’s ranks once their more successful spells at Stamford Bridge had come to an end.

Unlike for Essien and Torres, Pasalic hasn’t got the chance to prove himself in the Chelsea first-team yet, and has spent every year since his arrival in 2014 on loan at sides like Elche, Monaco and now Milan, so the Blues have a god chance to simply cash out on him.
