Chelsea want Bayern Munich star following title triumph

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich left-back David Alaba this summer following their title victory, as Antonio Conte has told Roman Abramovich he needs the Austrian star to bolster his squad for next season’s Champions League ordeal, The Guardian reports.

Conte wants a left-sided player to cover for Marcos Alonso on the wing-back’s position, and believes Alaba would be a perfect fit for the role.

Marcos Alonso has been terrific this season, but is the only left wing-back in the Chelsea squad.

Chelsea have two names on the list as according to Daily Star‘s older report, the Italian tactician wants either Alaba or Juventus’ Brazilian left-back Alex Sandro.

Conte is thought to be close of penning a contract extension at Stamford Bridge sooner or later, but he wants assurances that he’ll be given a hefty budget in the transfer market to help him bolster his squad the way he wishes.

The Blues have secured the title and will have plenty of cash available for shopping this summer.
