How Chelsea can wrap up the Premier League this Sunday in brutal test

Regardless of whether Tottenham win tonight against Crystal Palace, Chelsea will not be able to wrap up the title mathematically for a while yet. But given their run-in, they can effectively seal the deal this weekend.

This Sunday sees the Blues travel to Merseyside to face Everton, by far the toughest game remaining on their fixture list. After that, they have a downhill sprint to the finish against Middlesbrough, West Brom, Watford and Sunderland.

You couldn’t really ask for an easier run, and you can understand why this Sunday’s game at Goodison Park is being seen as the final hurdle for Antonio Conte’s men.

It won’t be easy however: Ronald Koeman’s team have lost just once at home this season, with 12 wins and 4 draws making up some impressive stats.

A draw would not be a bad result by any means, and a point will still set up Chelsea for their sprint finish nicely. But a win, and three points, would see them clear that final hurdle at full sprint, and would all but guarantee a second Premier League title in three years.
