Premier League rivals plan £25m raid on Chelsea duo

Chelsea players Nathan Ake and Asmir Begovic are reportedly a subject of £25m swoop from Premier League rivals AFC Bournemouth ahead of this summer’s transfer window, Daily Mirror reports.

The Blues second-choice keeper Begovic was offered a way out of the club in January when the Cherries tabled a £10m bid for his services, but the offer got turned down due to the Blues not being able to find a suitable replacement for the Bosnian in time.

Nathan Ake became a key player in Bournemouth’s starting eleven before being recalled back to Chelsea.

Ake on the other hand shined at the Vitality Stadium during his six-month loan spell at first half of the campaign before being recalled back to Stamford Bridge by the Blues boss, and is now wanted to rejoin them permanently by the manager Eddie Howe.

The young Dutchman has slowly started to find his role in the team and played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea’s FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham last Saturday, where the Blues were victorious by the score of 4-2.

Asmir Begovic conceded twice against United yesterday.

Begovic has mainly been sitting on the bench throughout the campaign due to Thibaut Courtois’ solid form, but has been rotated in a few less meaningful Cup games and when the Belgium international has been injured.

It would be a big loss for Chelsea selling such quality back-ups, but with Antonio Conte determined to bolster his squad for next season’s Champions League return, the money could always be invested in new signings.
