Blues boss Antonio Conte is a huge admirer of Fiorentina winger Federico Bernarderschi and has reportedly offered him a staggering deal worth £4.2m-a-year after tax, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 23-year-old has been one of the Serie A side’s best players this season and is looking to leave the club at the end of the campaign with several European top clubs circling.
Inter Milan and Juventus are thought to be Chelsea’s main rivals in the race for the Italy international, but Bernardeschi has already ruled out a transfer to the latter, while Inter are enjoying the backing of a new mega rich investor.
Fiorentina have offered Bernardeschi a new deal to stay in the purple-colored outfit but are only able to offer him a £2.3-a-year deal, making Chelsea’s potential offer almost the double of what he would earn by staying.
Bernardeschi has been one of Fiorentina’s best players this season having scored 13 goals to his name in the league.
