Chelsea have been linked with a move for Italy international Claudio Marchisio in the international press today.
According to the Metro, Italian paper Tuttosport are reporting that the 31 year old is ready to leave Juve this summer and his former manager is keen to get him on board at Stamford Bridge.
The classy midfielder has been outstanding for Italy and Juventus through his career, and may feel like now he has passed 30 he is ready to try something new as his career winds down.
Manchester United are also linked by Tuttosport, but one would imagine that Conte’s club and country connections to the midfielder would swing things in Chelsea’s favour should they really pursue their man.
Adding Marchisio would give the Blues a real classy edge ahead of their return to European competition next year. The dynamic Italian was a core part of the Juventus team that made it to the final in 2015, and he will be desperate to go one further before his career is over.
