Chelsea have made a decision on John Terry’s future with the club

John Terry will not be offered a contract extension when his current deal comes to an end in the summer, according to the Standard.

Terry has firmly written his name into the Chelsea hall of fame during his time at Stamford Bridge. He has been a cornerstone in the side throughout four Premier League title wins, and an essential member of the squad during the most successful period in this illustrious club’s history.

However, since Antonio Conte took the reigns at the Bridge last summer, his opportunities have been few and far between. With his contract coming to an end at the season’s end, it looks as though Terry could be in the swansong of his Chelsea career.

The Standard have reaffirmed that idea. They report that Terry will not be offered an extension to his current playing deal at the season’s end, but could stay on at Chelsea in a coaching or ambassadorial role. That appears to be what’s best for both parties.
