Chelsea may have to offer Thibaut Courtois as much as £200,000-a-week to convince him to pen a new contract, according to the Mirror.
Courtois has been in fine form for the Blues so far this campaign, and leads the race to win the Premier League Golden Glove having kept 13 clean sheets. Chelsea have also conceded just 20 goals in the league this term, meaning that Antonio Conte’s men have the best defensive record in the league.
The Belgian has played a considerable role in Chelsea’s success, and is well on his way to winning his third league title in four seasons. The Blues will undoubtedly be keen to keep hold of Courtois, but they may well have to break the bank to do so.
According to the Mirror, Courtois will demand as much as £200,000-a-week to reject interest from Real Madrid and commit his future to Chelsea. That will make him one of the highest earners at the club.
