Conte to demand £200M war chest in contract negotiations

Antonio Conte will demand a £200million war chest in negotiations over an extension to his Chelsea contract, according to the Times.

Since Conte took the reigns at Stamford Bridge in the summer, the landscape has changed drastically. The Blues had a season to forget last time around, finishing tenth in the Premier League table and failing to win any silverware. One year down the line and we find ourselves in pole position to lift the title come May.

The Italian is almost certainly going to win the Premier League title in his debut season on these shores, and it appears as though he will be rewarded for his good work.

The Times report that Chelsea are preparing to offer Conte a new deal in order to convince him to snub interest from abroad and remain in West London. However, they note that he will demand a £200million transfer budget if he is to put pen-to-paper on an extension to his current deal.
