Chelsea prepared to loan out £33M outcast for two seasons

Chelsea are prepared to loan out out-of-favour striker Michy Batshuayi for two seasons in the summer transfer window, report the Metro.

Batshuayi found the back of the net 23 times for Marseille last campaign, and his electric form turned heads abroad. The Metro report that Chelsea parted with £33million to secure the Belgian’s services in the summer transfer window.

Despite the hefty price tag, Batshuayi has only been used sporadically by Antonio Conte in his debut season in West London. He has made 16 Premier League appearances, but has not started a game in England’s top tier since his arrival on these shores.

According to the Metro, he could subsequently seek the exit door at Stamford Bridge in search of first-team football. They report that Chelsea are prepared to loan Batshuayi out for two seasons in hope that he will emulate compatriot Romelu Lukaku’s development into a top striker. There would likely be no shortage of interest in him.
