Chelsea are interested in signing Napoli full-back Faouzi Ghoulam, according to Calciomercato.
Ghoulam has established himself as one of the best full-backs in Serie A last season. He was a cornerstone in Napoli’s defence last campaign, as they narrowly missed out on the league title to Juventus.
His good performances in Italy’s top tier do not appear to have gone unnoticed. According to Calciomercato, Chelsea are interested in securing Ghoulam’s services in the summer transfer window. The Italian outlet believe that it recently looked as though he was going to put pen-to-paper on a move to Stamford Bridge
However, it now looks like the Blues will face stern competition for his signature. Calciomercato believe that PSG and Real Madrid are also tracking Ghoulam.
Chelsea are in dire need of reinforcements on the left-side of defence, with Marcos Alonso providing the only natural option at left-wing-back. Ghoulam could well be the answer to Antonio Conte’s troubles.
