Thibaut Courtois tells what stopped Chelsea from winning Burnley

Chelsea keeper Thibaut Courtois has offered his excuses on Chelsea’s inability to win Burnley at Turf Moor last night, when the two sides shared the points in a 1-1 draw.

Pedro scored a great finish after six minutes of play, but the hosts quickly found a response through a spectacular free-kick goal from Robbie Brady, which was eventually quite close to be saved by the big Belgian.

Courtois spoke to Daily Express after the game and fret how the Blues didn’t manage to get the grip of the game on the second half failing to find a second goal.

“The pitch was not good, there was snow, it was cold and not an ideal situation but we started very well.

We scored and I think we conceded a free-kick where you could see the quality of Brady.

After the goal we couldn’t find our game from the first 20 minutes.

We slipped out of our game and found it hard to create chances. In the end we can be happy with the point.”

Chelsea could’ve fallen into a shock defeat as well, but a few great saves from the 23-year-old Belgian to deny Lowton and Gray kept the scores even.

The Blues are now ten points clear on top of the Premier League table and will face Swansea City at home next in the Premier League in two weeks’ time, visiting Wolverhampton Wanderers for the FA Cup tie in between that time.
