Superb Cesc show makes mockery of new transfer links to AC Milan

Cesc Fabregas finally forced his way back into the Chelsea lineup this week against Swansea, and put in such a strong performance that it’s hard to see him being dropped any time soon.

The midfielder scored the opening goal with an instinctive finish after barging through the centre of the park.

The Spaniard’s inclusion was an important moment as it represented the first time that Antonio Conte has really tweaked the XI that has been first choice since the switch to 343. While it may not guarantee Fabregas a start every week, it shows that he is in a position to at least rotate with Nemanja Matic depending on the opposition.

This is why hearing fresh rumours in the Evening Standard of a move to AC Milan being discussed again is just so unbelievable. Now Cesc has shown that he has the quality and determination to get into the team at Staamfrod Bridge, why would he be thinking about a move elsewhere? Things may change if he isn’t seen in Blue again this season, but at this point a run of starts looks very likely. If that happpens, don’t expect to see him going anywhere.
