Roman Abramovich set to reward Chelsea man with huge pay rise

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reportedly ready to offer Antonio Conte an improved contract should the Italian lead the club to the Premier League title this season, The Daily Mail (via Metro) reports.

It’s understood that the Russian multimillionaire is prepared to double the 47-year-old manager’s current annual salary of £6.5m to secure his long-term role at the club.

Roman Abramovich wants Antonio Conte to be a long-term manager at Chelsea.

Conte has enjoyed a superb first season in England so far, as he’s currently flying high on top of the Premier League table with nine points clear and a game in hand.

And ahead of next season’s return to the Champions League, Conte hopes the club will enjoy a productive summer transfer window to bolster the team in all ranks.

Despite the tingling excitement of next term’s new challenges, Conte is fully concentrated on the Blues’s upcoming game against Burnley tomorrow afternoon, as Chelsea have a chance to go 12 points clear on top of the table if they’ll be able to beat the Clarets – who have been in fine form at home this campaign.
