N’Golo Kante’s monster game in numbers

While Cesc Fabregas stole the headlines against Swansea, those at Stamford Bridge were equally impressed by the performance of the man alongside him.

N’Golo Kante quietly put in a masterclass in defensive midfield work, and while you could only really appreciate it with the naked eye, the stats he racked up were pretty impressive too.

Without his usual glamorous assistant Nemanja Matic alonside him to help clear up, Kante had more work than ususal to do. But he rose to the occasion as only he can and built a solid platofrm for Cesc Fabregas to launch attacks from.

To start with his pass accuracy of 93.7% was the highest on the team.

Defensively he contributed 5 tackles, with the rest of the team combiniing for a total of only 6. He also made 3 interceptions, with the rest of the team combining for just 4. The Frenchman was a wall in front of the back four, and while Chelsea conceded from a set piece, the Swans just didn’t look like they were going to be able to score any other way.
